The Children’s Ward at the Great Western Hospital recently received a donation of £180 from Henry, who very generously chose to donate the money to the Children’s Ward Play Department.

Henry wanted to fundraise on World Diabetes Day and decided he would stand outside his school with a donation bucket and give a blue ribbon to anyone who donated, to represent Diabetes awareness.

On the day Henry planned to fundraise the rain clouds arrived, but this didn’t stop Henry who, with the help of his mum, managed to raise an amazing £180 for the play department on the Children’s Ward and raise awareness for Diabetes.

Community & Events Fundraising Manager Colby & Play Specialist Claire welcomed Henry and his mum onto the ward to give Henry the opportunity to present a large cheque to the ward and the charity. Colby said “It was an honour to meet Henry and thank him for his fundraising efforts. The money raised will help the play specialists on the Children’s Ward to deliver sessions that will make our younger patient’s stay in hospital a little better.”
