Fibroscan Appeal

Thanks to the incredible generosity of supporters, including The Dr Thomas Cranston Wilson Charitable Trust and The Malmesbury League of Friends, in spring 2020, we successfully reached our appeal target of £40,000 to fund Great Western Hospital’s first Fibroscan.

This new liver scanning machine was delivered in June 2020 and the Hepatology Team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust can now offer patients a non-invasive, quick and painless test to access and monitor the health of their liver.

In the first year of its use, an estimated 1,000 patients have already benefitted from the new Fibroscan! We can’t thank you enough for helping to bring about this fantastic improvement in patient care at Great Western Hospital.

“We are honestly so grateful to donors for the Fibroscan.” Hepatology Clinical Nurse Specialist, Laura Kent
