Gail's Story

Gail has been fundraising for Brighter Futures since 2017 raising money for our Neonatal Unit after her youngest son spent the first 3 months of his life on the unit. Her son is 30 this year and if it wasn’t for the skills and expertise of the staff, he wouldn’t be here today. Her first fundraiser, the Severn Bridge Half Marathon raised £750.00

Gail is an avid runner and has taken on many running challenges for Brighter Futures, running the Severn Bridge 10k every year, our Santa vs Rudolph event and has even taken on a tandem skydive to raise money!

In 2021, Gail ran the Virgin London Marathon for the first time, completing it in an amazing 6 hours and 34 minutes and raising a brilliant £1540!

This year, Gail has once again secured a ballot place in the TCS London Marathon and will again be raising money for the Neonatal Unit. So far she has raised nearly £300 of her £500 target!

This is what the event means to Gail:

The staff who work there are absolutely incredible people & I cannot thank them enough for the amazing work they do every single day, I can’t do much, but I can run. And if people are willing to support my running efforts by sponsoring me, then hopefully we can work together to raise lots of money for this wonderful charity.
